So very true Bruce … me being one who didn’t discipline or craft my words recently (to make a valid point) and so harmed a long-standing and valuable relationship. How different it might have been if words had been chosen more carefully!

Growing up being bullied in the 70s/80s as an Australian with Italian heritage and being a relatively skinny child, the saying; “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”, was a comforting mantra. However on the surface it seemed to help but unaware in my sub-consciousness the words taunted to me caused years of anger, anxiety and depression.
