Always insightful, inspiring and thought provoking- praise God for this blessed time of Lent- may we draw closer and closer to Him as we continue to examine our hearts and turn back to Him. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Thank you Bruce

I thought it was the money changing that incensed our Lord. Only temple coins could be used to buy sacrificial animals. So exchanging common coins for temple coins, would be done at a profit. As always to the detriment of the poor.

Thank you Bruce for this challenging message for Lent:examining our motivations. Yesterday night I looked at the message of examining our conscience. It seems I have a lot of examining to do! Who says Christianity, Catholicism is boring?!!! Who says it is an easy way out of life?!!! Who says it is looking at the world or ourselves with a rosey set of glasses?!!! God bless you Bruce! I’ll be hearing you tonight or I’ll be seeing you tomorrow!

I am a Catholic….but feel very mixed up with my faith at the moment…I think it’s not the people but the church that has changed …and people in our church who have let us down…your discussion that it is not a business…but it is…we are asked constantly for money. I try to live my life simply and help and volunteer regularly but a lot of things are wrong…

Hi Jo. Sorry to hear that you are being constantly being asked for money by the Church. That is not my experience. While we have collections at Mass, I think it is rare to hear a Priest asking for money from his parishioners. In fact I think we get off lightly. Many Christian Churches teach that members should be tithing i.e. giving 10% of their income to their Church. However, I do understand that there are many perplexing things about being a Catholic in today’s world. In the circumstances, good on you for hanging in there, living simply and volunteering.… Read more »

In the last year I have received only one communication from our local Catholic church and that is to ask for money. Nothing else! I have the internet to access sites such as yours. I have found great pleasure in listening to your daily ministries but a huge amount of people don’t have access to the internet. I have loved lockdown. It has been an opportunity to reflect, one of my reflections has been that God speaks to us through this beautiful earth. During winter all has appeared to be dead but now it is resurrecting with spring. Another reflection… Read more »

Thank you for today’s discussion on half heartedness , this is my second lent and I’m so grateful for you and this teaching. You helped me make a decision to become a catholic. I started with your book about prayer and to see this program, it always speaks to me, your helping me to stay stronger thank you Kathy

Thanks Bruce, I have even found myself in the poor situation of praying half-heartedly sometimes. When I have committed to praying at certain times during the day and I have not always stopped to really consider what I am doing and why I am committed to to it the half heartedness is evident. I’m sure the good Lord was very disappointed with my conversations! Thank God for His love and mercy.

I go to church regularly, and go through the motions of trying to be the best I can be, but most of the time I feel as if there is no one there to hear me. I don’t feel God’s presence,
and don’t know how to get to the level that I see other devout Christians achieving.
please pray for me!

Hello

Thanks for your question. Yes the Daily Devotional Videos will continue after Lent. My goal is to share Christ and the teaching of the Church in a way that hopefully in language people understand through the easy to access videos each day.

God bless

Todays word was very meaningful for me as it let to my reflection on handling a situation of distraction in giving in my organization. I hope to use this understanding to help my team to look deeper into the original purpose of the organization and to get back on track.
Thank you for today.

My best prayer comes from author Marjorie Holmes:
Oh God, give me grace just for this day
Not for a lifetime, nor for next week, nor for tomorrow, just for this day.
Direct my thoughts and bless them, Direct my work and bless it.
Direct the things I say and give them blessing too.
Direct and bless everything that I think and speak and do.
So that for this one, just for this one day, I have the gift of grace that comes from your presence.
