Hey Bruce, As always another really good sermon, thought provoking at this time for me and wayne. treasures vs temptations, definitely a challenge and a wilderness to navigate through. But as you said God is with us and like Jesus can send his angels to help us through it. Daily i remind myself that there’s two realms heaven and earth. I need to prayer and ask for help, and still pray even if the help don’t come. My hearts treasure is Jesus but I do tend to misplace him with earthly things, so thank you for the reminder to seek… Read more »

You’re definitely right! May we always be aware of materialistic things that don’t matter in our eternal home, Heaven!

Thank you so much for this and opening my eyes to ways I replace God in my life. I never thought that overeating and smoking are ways I replace God in my heart. Thank you for opening my eyes ! I hope my relationship and love deepens with God so that He may be in my heart alone.

Doctors, meds, with caring for her house, laundry etc. My sister, 22 months below me worked a full time job,So she couldn’t help as much. She’s retired this past December 31…… Read more »

You are right and we pray that we will not treasure the things of the world than God, what ever comes our ways or what we have even our talent, its a gift from God and should be used wisely and not allowing it to get into us. Thank you again Bruce

Powerful talk today! I’m in the process of shedding pounds as I know that my obesity chokes my spiritual life and prevents me from a closer walk with Jesus. I’ve lost over 50 pounds and spiritually am closer to our Lord!

Bruce, Thank you for breaking down the Lord’s Prayer in the way you have. I have said it thousands of times in my life and have never stopped to examine the words and their meaning in the way you have this week. The “words” are so entrenched in memory that sometimes I stop and ask myself mid prayers if I actually said the Lord’s Prayer and I end up repeating it because it comes so naturally as part of my nightly routine that no thought is required. Thank you for the reminder that it deserves my reverence and it is… Read more »

Such a thought provoking sermon, Bruce. Beautifully explained, I am motivated to identify my treasures which keep me away from God.

Your message this morning spoke directly to me. I worry about the world our children and grandchildren are growing up in. Keep up the good work. Have listened to you for over a year.
