Good morning Bruce, what fantastic lesson this is. It made me think back about the small changes that God has told me to do in my life to become a better person. Some time back I had priorities which took me away from God, they weren’t what God had called me to. Now that God has guided me through these small steps it’s allowed me to be part of a bigger spiritual community in service to others and the other priorities that I had are secondary and I fit them in as time permits. I thank God for opening my… Read more »

I appreciate your thoughts, reflections and prayers. Would it be possible on Sundays to use the Readings for the day. This would reinforce what I am reading. If I am fortunate enough to attend Mass, your insights and views would add to those presented in the Homily.

Thank you Bruce!!! For this weekly message which I needed to hear!!! I will need to reflect on the identity, the purpose and the authority/ ability God has given me. May the Lord I pray continue to provide for the ministries and continue to bless the mission God has sent for you Bruce and Rosemary and all of you to do!!! May the Lord also come close to all who are participating with us this Lent and transform their lives in amazing ways!!!

As I began this Lenten journey with you and your team, I came with an open heart and mind. Lent was always something I had to fit into my daily life. Now, I awaken each day with an eagerness to listen to your message and pray the rosary. I also find a peacefulness and calmness within myself. This year, I can now say, I am trying to fit my daily life in and around Lent. May God Bless you for living your purpose.

Thank you Bruce for todays reflection on Finding purpose in lent and in our lives. Many of these thoughts have been working themselves into my life, slowly but surly. Todays reflections have put more structure to this process and given me encouragement to continue with this. Thank you. .

I am retired now, living with stage 4 cancer and doing lots of reflection. You so opened my eyes to better understand , “Thy will be done”. Your lesson today gave me a better perspective as I look back over my life and assess the many important decisions I have made and directions I have taken. Many paths taken because I truly listened to God while others were non-purposeful and even some contradictory to the way of the Lord. This IS a POWERFUL scripture passage that I never really understood more than Peter building the rock upon this site- until… Read more »

My husband of 55 years just passed away in January and I felt like I lost my purpose in life. Your talks made me realize that God has a new purpose for my life.

Dear Dorothy, sad to hear of your husband passing recently. May God have welcomed Him with open arms. God has not finished with you yet- I learnt that long ago- if I’m still here, I still have a work or works to do. May you be growing ever deeper in love with Our God each day- thats my prayer for you, much love Rosemary

Your messages came into my life at just the right time. I am finally taking my lenten promises seriously because you have explained it so nicely. Catholic school was so long ago and it seems that people don’t take lent seriously.

Dear Janet, yes school was so long ago and we all need to go deeper with God as we live our everyday lives. As we journey with HIM now during LENT may it never stop ever. Jesus is the ONE we need in our lives, even more so at particular times/ seasons. May Our relationship with God blossom and grow with each breath. Thank you for going on the journey with HIM more. I decided to attend Mass on Sundays for Lent, not being a regular Mass attendant for some time, took my Sunday Missal I’ve had for many years. I opened it 2nd Sunday in Lent, then referring to the Sunday Sheets received at entrance to Church could not understand that the 1st Reading 2nd Reading and Gospel were different readings
Gospel in MissalMathew 4-1-11. On Church Pamphlet Luke 9-28-36 Please explanation if possible. Catholic Mass & The Sunday Missal

Hi Rae, You may be following a much older Sunday missal. I still have mine from 60 years ago. It is different from the Mass readings of today. In order to hear all of the gospels with readings appropriate to the Church season, the Church hierarchy devised a year A, B. C. method. One year, we concentrate on the gospel of Luke, then the gospel of Matthew, then the gospel of Mark. The gospel of John is interspersed seasonally. I suspect this is why the readings given out for the Mass you were attending at the church door and those… Read more »

Any tips on understanding/hearing when God is telling us to take a certain path, vs. hearing our own voice and thinking it may be God’s? (Other than it must be our own voice if we are hearing to do something inconsistent with scripture.)

Thanks so much for these messages for Lent… thank you for this Personal Prayer one especially. Just listened to it yesterday… I missed it earlier. I have been a Christian for 50 + years a Protestant and have always prayed, journalled for many years. Life turned upside down a few years ago and I broke the journalling habit; I talk with Father and Jesus all the time but look forward to this structure once again as a formal way to pray and record my walk with Him. #I am so sad that as I was raised, I was told that… Read more »
