Being raised a Catholic and now the other side of 60 Catholic guilt seems to always hover with me. Bruce you balance that ridding of guilt well in how you explain the mercy of God is always there – hopefully your explanation gives me a better understanding of how this is working in my life. I have only recently started listening and watching you on line (from Perth) but admire your down to earth approach to understanding God An observation…Is it me or do most of the feedback comments seem to come from women and not men .. ??!!!
Three years ago, I fell upon Bruce and Rosemary through the Rosary. I thought “an Aussie” this should at least be down to earth, and perhaps a bit amusing. I have not missed a day since. I do feel as though I have gained so much more understanding of my faith. Like you, I am a cradle Catholic. No, it is not you, far more women ( like me), seem to add comments then the men. Maybe they are rushing off to work?

I woke up this morning (thank you Lord) with this exact issue on my mind. It has been there for many years. It is what brought me back to God and again this morning asked Him to once again help me. As always he just did.I know what I need to do. Thank You.

Thank you Bruce for explaining about the guilt and Gods mercy….been brought up a Catholic, somehow we were always made to feel guilty about something and to fear God, never told he was a loving God. I’ve been following you now for 2 years and have learnt so much more in this time than my whole life being brought up a catholic and I have always continued going to church each weekend. Would love you to come to speak in our Parish here in Busselton. Big thank you again Bruce

Of all the messages you’ve given, this one has been the most meaningful to me. God’s understanding of me and still being merciful lessens the load on my heart when I struggle to forgive myself for my shortcomings. Thank you for this and all of the other devotionals you have given.

Your clarity brings a new life and a new beginning to some who are in need of a special touch from Him.. Showing Gods unconditional love for all.. even those who don’t believe yet! Today you have set many captives free🙌… to satans dismay😉

This was a difficult one for me because I am a person who believes in rules and guidelines. However, you did say at the end that Jesus didn’t dismiss them. I believe you have to use common sense sometimes. Sometimes rules have to be relaxed when situations arise when Love and a helpful hand is needed instead.

Each of us have to learn how to show compassion for ourselves as we do do for others. Learning to pray to our Lord for forgiveness for our wrong doing and shame helps. ”You are not your past. You are more than your now.”

Amazing that you seemed to have spoken directly to me. I went to confession recently for the first time in 30+ years. I was immediately brought to tears when I began and barely scratched the surface of my numerous sins. The priest then absolved me of my sins, to which I am forever grateful, but I have been so concerned that I did not confess “enough” and have been unable to get past this. I was so sure after confession I would feel a sense of joy, but have felt nothing but guilt. Thank you so much for reaching out… Read more »
