My NRSV bible words the Proverb scripture you used today slightly differently; same message. In thinking about “accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative” in multiple situations, I often reflect on Matthew 13:12 – “For to those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance; but from those who have not, even what they have will be taken away.” There are so many words that could be interlined and interchanged after “For those who have….” – faith, wisdom, truth, understanding, gratitude, love, hope, joy.
