- Leonie Cornell on June 22, 2021 at 7:04 amSharon, I know how hard this is for you. 7 years ago, I moved 600kms to live with my father and look after him. My husband visited a few times, using up all his saved up holiday leave and some long service. I also visited our children once, while my husband minded my dad. For me, it was only a 6 month time, as I was urged by medical staff to move him to a place closer to my home where I could visit a lot and have my family time back, and also give him access to his grandchildren. God was good, and I had so much support from his medical support, and once he did move and got over the trauma, he felt much more secure and stopped worrying as much about all the caring for himself, he knew to be not managing. Dad lived 5 more years and only succumbed to a kidney disease in the last 3 months. That is my story, and God probably has a differing solution for you. But He will find a way, where there is no way. And give you the strength and courage to wait just one more day, each day.
