Happiest of birthdays to you. I really struggle to pray, my words get lost in my head, but I do my best. Some days it’s fine, but a lot of times I suddenly burst into tears and feel very emotional. Any thoughts?
Do you also spend time just being silent, along with your preferred worded prayers Shirley? Remember the Holy Spirit can translate our very tears and inward groans and present them to the Father in an understandable ‘format’. I like to read the daily Gospel and spend 15 mins in silence. Sometimes I hear what God wants me to do, or say, in a particular intimate way, and some days I hear nothing. I hope this might be something that will be useful, if you have tried, I’d stick with it. Happy Birthday, Bruce. Today is also my wife’s birthday. She passed away last April after 39 wonderful years together. I still grieve deeply but my faith continues to provide comfort.
Chris she is in your future👍 what kind of husband would you be if you didn’t miss her🥹. I too had my beloved spouse go “home” 6 months ago.. I miss him however I can’t thank God enough for the 56 years of marriage and the 5 years before of getting to know him,. I am thankful he is in my future and eternal life is a forever thing🕊.
