I often struggle with relating to the blind, lame, deaf, lepers etc in the bible as these are not people we see in our everyday life. I work in an aged care facility & the thing I see our staff & residents suffer most with are the battles with stress and mental health issues. Our beautiful residents & families have to cope with loosing their independence & moving from their homes & supporting friends, family, church members etc.

Dear Maria, The examples Jesus used in the bible were the prevalents diseases, health issues of the world at that time. Today we have different ones cancer, diabetes, loneliness, alzeimheirs, dementia, etc but if you see the words Blind as not physically blind but spiritually, emotionally and mentally blind, lame as not physical lame but spiritually, emotional and mentally lame etc we are all the same. You see from the description in your everyday work life at the aged care facility examples where Jesus needs to come and heal, help, fix, forgive, change…… It sounds like to me that you are… Read more »

Thanks Bruce for a defining moment in my life where I struggle to know who I am and learn to know what God wants me to be within myself and where he is calling me to go in my marriage, my family, my work and the broader community

I just loved this message today, I often feel guilty as I don’t go to church. I have a little dog that suffers with separation anxiety and I just cannot leave him alone at home. I have often wandered how God feels about this ….and now I know. Thank you Bruce.

Lynda I would like to let you know about a special elderly lady who attended our Church up to the time she passed away. She was a Jewish lady who became Catholic. She had organized a Prayer Group in her own apartment. And she had the most attached, loving little dog that came to Church and sat under the pew where the owner sat! Many a time I saw this lovely little dog, laying down it’s head upon the wooden floor and have a nap! When we would come to the Prayer Group, the little dog would be there also,… Read more »

I missed church the last two Sundays as my precious pet only had days to live and I never left his side. I did exactly what the Holy Spirit prompted me to do…just pour out the love he gave to me for 13years🥹. Unconditional love of a beloved pet how much greater is His love of Us… Jesus we trust in you!! Bruce is amazing at keeping things simple.. Love God love others💝

🙏. Take a walk outside and see the beauty of this earth and the amazing creator who so generously gave all this to us! Perhaps a pet to take care of would help….. His words says It is not good for man to be alone…volunteering is an amazing way to help rid depression. May Our Lord and Savior give you the hope needed to make a life worth living! Jesus thank you for answered prayers for your daughter Elizabeth!

Thank you for todays topic. I was particularly interested in how you described the different levels of faith. Some go to church more often than others, pray more often, etc. I especially liked that it only matters what I do, and not to concern myself about others. I have been fretting over my adult children, and some other family members, and even myself. Are we all doing, believing, praying enough?
I guess I’ll just do what I do, and leave the rest to God.
