I was drawn to meditate a while longer on this passage this morning. My understanding is that there are lessons for me in every role in the narrative. As the crippled woman, Jesus forgives our faith-destroying, crippling behaviours as soon as I go to Him for Him to lay His hands of forgiveness on us. Timing of forgiveness is governed by us going to God, being ready to be healed. References to the woman being bent over and later beginning to praise God I read as the woman being excluded (bent over, unable to straighten up and join in with… Read more »

Thank you, Bruce, for this daily devotion today. It is true when you say you have to be the bigger person, but sometimes that person ignores you. How do you reach out to them if they will not acknowledge you, especially if you do not know the reason why this person will not speak to you. All I did was pray and ask to forgive if I did something to that person and move on in life.

Beautiful message! Who would want to but a stumbling block between you and God Our Father, Son and Holy Spirit by unforgiveness! 99%of obedience is still being disobedient! He means exactly what he says…love God and love one another! You have truly forgiven when you can earnestly pray for God to bless their life!
