We saw forgiveness in Erika Kirk’s eulogy at her husband Charlie’s funeral service when she said, speaking of her hsband’s killer ‘That man. I forgive him.’ She reflected , in doing so, on Jesus, as He hung dying on the Cross, prayed to His Father speaking of his torturer’s and killers, ‘Father forgive them for they know what what they do.’

A smile goes a long way in showing mercy, it is a positive non-verbal cue showing friendliness and happiness. It provides information about how we feel in a given situation. Without mercy, I don’t know where we’d be as a society because without it, we wouldn’t be communicating with each other, we wouldn’t be able to solve problems or learn from our mistakes. We are merciful because God is merciful.
