You have talked about some of your family not being close to religious practices. My daughter and her husband are kind, thoughtful people and do not go to church. Your premise begins with the Holy Spirit that I feel leads me. Where is their premise or source of goodness? Is it from their religious parents? Their children do not go to church. My faith is getting me through. What will get my granddaughters through life when they need more than they alone can handle?
I see the same in my family. I am trying to teach my granddaughters this summer and help her prepare for Confirmation. The grandchildren are coming for Nana Camp and religion is going to be one of our activities.
Your prayers!!! God answers, He sees your heart of love and He loves them more than could everš. Never give upā¦. His Word says āI will perfect all that concerns youā! Itās gonna happen š
Dear Melanie, God is close to your children and grandchildren even if they do not know Him. He out of His great love for us will always chase after all of His children- us. God never stops drawing us to himself. We will join our prayers with yours that they see Him, they find Him, their Hearts are softened to hear His voice calling them. Never give up. Keep praying and hoping.The Holy Spirit can do amazing things and Jesus came to reach the lost and save us.

Wow, thanks so much explaining the relationship between the Holy Spirit & a personās conscience. Iāve been struggling with this issue ever since I have decided to ācome backā to the faith. Thanks for making the entire concept of religion, faith & prayer so accessible to me.

For people who are quite at “Peace” and filled with the Holy Spirit, I readily agree that our consciences are guided by the Holy Spirit in decisions on how we live our lives. But what about the many of us who may not be filled with the Holy Spirit? Often caught up between living in this material world of the “flesh” and very possibly being torn apart by the conscience God created us with, which we experience as the Holy Spirit? I asked for true discernment and the Holy Spirit has completely helped me attain that! I am so aware of His promptings!

Thank you! This is extremely hopeful. I have always felt we have to seek God, have good hearts and we, ourselves, must ask help from the Holy Spirit.
