Two wonderful, powerful messages! Bruce how proud you must be of your beautiful daughter. I cried and prayed and it was good. God ‘graced’ you is a precious explanation that I will always remember and be strengthened by. His grace is truly sufficient ????????

A wonderful message Emma. Thank you for sharing that with us today. It certainly has a bearing on all our lives, and has, I am sure, helped us all to see things a lot clearer as far as the phrase, “Take up your cross and follow me”, goes. And then, a beautiful heartfelt prayer to finish off that I certainly will keeping at hand for future use. .

Emma, thank you for telling your story. My mom gave birth to my youngest brother with Down Syndrome and a hole in his heart. The doctors and my father’s family advised my mom to put him in an institution. My mom was Catholic, and she said that my brother was a gift from God and she would raise him. Several times through the years when he was extremely ill, the doctors advised my parents “to make arrangements”. My mom remained in her faith. After all she had to had a great faith to raise 7 boys and a girl, especially… Read more »

Wow Emma, what a poignant example of carrying our cross, accepting it, growing in love, understanding God’s rich love, God loving us for who we are with are imperfections. The comment about being graced by God is a powerful thought and something to reflect on deeply. Thank you for not just sharing your story, but for doing so with full emotion, deep faith and sacrificial love. You are the type of woman God had in mind when he created Eve!

With sincerity and gratitude,
Brian

I have two daughters who have learning disabilities. They both have Fragile X and one of my daughters is also autistic. I thank you for sharing your story. Celine, my daughter has been traumatized with the Covid outbreak. I have been very impatient with her outbursts. What I have realized is that I need to let Celine be who she is — not this perfect daughter. Her younger sister, also affected by Fragile X, graduated with honors with her Bachelors’ Degree. I thank God for the graces he has bestowed upon me to help the with their challenges. May God… Read more »

I was listening to your father, and at the end he mentioned you. Your father was right you were awesome. My daughter has a friend that was the youngest of 6 children, and was a little bit spoiled. She got married and had a son who has autism. He has to have a lot of care. This has changed this young girl’s life for the better. She is a great mom, picked a great man who together care for their son. I think GOD knows who the right people are to have children who will need a lot of care.… Read more »

We have a saying in my country ‘whoever doesn’t have a cross, they have a medallion’ which means exactly like you said, we all have a cross or a burden to carry. Personally it’s how I accept it and if God is in your life, He helps in carrying it with you. Thanks Emma for sharing your story, God Bless.
