I have to keep reminding myself that we have a forgiving God! I have carried guilt for things that I’ve done. With Gods help I have been able to repent! God is Good

Good morning, this has been the most heart impacting message on repentance that I have ever received. Every blessing to you all.

Two things arise for me from today’s devotional: 1. Holding onto guilt instead of accepting God’s forgiveness. I can leave reconciliation feeling good and later on the guilt creeps back and I wonder how God could forgive me what I’ve confessed and then I feel bad because I see this as doubting God. I pray for the grace to be stronger in my faith, to truly repent and firmly put past sins behind me. 2. How did the prodigal son’s brother react to being told by his father “we have to celebrate your brother’s return”? This is not a frivolous… Read more »

Thank you Bruce I do confess for what I have done but for some reason it all comes back. Though deep down I know that God wants me to let it go so I can focus only on HIM. This lent I am trying very hard to do this and I feel that there are days that I feel a lot better when I just focus on the moment with God. Your words today keeps reassuring me. God Bless you and the team.

We must remember that Satan loves to remind us of our past mistakes and so keeps us feeling guilty.
just remind him that you are forgiven by a wonderful .loving God.

Transformation happens when we admit how weak we are when we try to change things in our own strength and ask for the power and presence of the Holy Spirit to do His silent, invisible, gradual change in our lives. Our tastes change. Our desires change. Things we once loved, we gradually despise. Repentance is the experience of admitting our failures, our periodic rebellion and neglect and accepting God’s grace to give us a fresh start all over again.

Repentance is when we acknowledge to God our innate depravity and vulnerability. It’s that desperate reaching out to the only One who can take our outstretched hand and set us on the right path each day. It’s the very opposite of any feelings of self-sufficiency. (see Luke 18:11)
