I think you showed up on my face book feed from our Diocese – not even sure now! So glad I found you. I agree with the letter you just read about the gentleman who wished he had known this as a young person. I agree. I think that is why we have lost so many people in the Catholic church. They don’t really get it. Hard to really understand what the bible is telling us unless you take in a bible study or listen to someone like you. Thanks you for what you do. It would have been great if you came around sooner! But you’re here now. I agree. I am 70+, and if I had heard this in my twenties maybe my life would have turned out very differently. But, better late than never!

I have been following you since i first heard of you and you gave a evening retreat at Infant Jesus parish around the year 2000, and have always managed to attend your wonderful local retreats and since you returned to Australia due to the Covid pandemic I’ve never missed your morning walking daily with God series and the longer Sunday talks. Thank you Bruce for this very relevant message today! Today I managed to write down my PERSONAL prayer for the first time in a long time! When it came to N for Nourish I opened the Bible to the scripture verses Mathew 12: 33 -37 with a sub heading of A Tree and It’s Fruits!!! I totally agree regarding those who wrote in expressing their wish “if you’d only been there during their youth”. I attended Catholic School in a big city where catechism class was thorough, but my children were unable to as there was no such school in our town though they did attend catechism class after mass on Sundays taught by a variety of volunteers. Once a week was not near enough time to explain well or truely understand. Now though, because if you, small towns/cities where Catholic/christian schools may not exist, having your 10 minute daily clear, concise, heart felt explanations… Read more »

I use a St. Ignatius Bible. For Lent a few years ago I used my parents Bible (back in the 60’s) it took all of Lent to read it. I heard on a Religious Station in the USA about the Ignatius Bible. It is bigger, BUT the print is bigger and does not have thee’s and thou’s and you can understand the Bible better. Thank you for all you do for the Catholic Faith. GOD BLESS.

I too am wondering why I did not find someone like you before. I often look up help with guidance through lent. That is how I found you. I sure wish I knew you were talking when my children were young and still part of our “chruch” experience. Anyway, you give me hope . If I found you at age 68 perhaps my children will find someone later in their lives.
