This discussion really hit me today. I do believe forgiveness to be the key to a peaceful heart. Life is just so short to be disgruntled about things.

Loved the comments almost as much as you sharing your experience with us! You help us see people through His eyes which is so very important! People are basically selfish and through our life’s journey we learn to love unconditionally and as we grow in our knowledge of how much He loves each one of us. The verse “Be kind to one another” resonates in my spirit. The book of James is one of my favorite ones to teach with my Confirmation students..Short, power packed as Kind Words give life to those in need and we are all very needy!… Read more »

Good morning Bruce. Excellent points in today’s discussion. Thank you. I think I will listen again after lunch! It dawned on me that a lot of this hanging on to grudges comes from pride. We need to humble ourselves. Jesus taught us to pray the Our Father. And in that prayer we say “ forgive us our trespasses AS WE FORGIVE those who trespass against us. Your example of your birthday disappointment, and how you handled it, was beautiful. Clearly you loved your parents very much. I need to remember that example. Thank you.

Happy Birthday for the 5th of January Bruce!!! What a powerful message with lots to think about. It’s my birthday this coming Thursday and I have been dreading it. For many reasons…. Traditionally my family would make a big thing about it and invite people over for a braai or party of some sorts. Always had a good time. This year I am not emotionally ready for turning 57!!! I have been unemployed for 3 years and applying for jobs at my age, hasn’t been easy or forthcoming. Adding another year to my cv, just feels dreadful. I know that… Read more »
Dear Carmy, Oh my heart is full of love and encouragement for you. Don’t worry about the number of your years. I am 63 and have bad knees and feel so hindered by the pain when I walk but for some reason this is where God has me. I will not stop loving him and reaching people for jesus. Jesus has you in the palm of his hand. I don’t know why no job but I do know my God, your God.He is faithful and will provide for you.Stay close to him, he will use you and if he desires… Read more »

thanks for the message. I realize that I play the martyr many times so that I can be the righteous one. I can be angry for being left out and maybe it is because people are wrapped up with themselves instead of purposely trying to hurt me

I been holding a grudge for my sisters for years. one because she abandoned me and the other also but mostly because she always had more then me in material things. God forgive me and help me let this go.
