Loved this morning message. One comment on the Hellfire and Brimstone preaching. It is there to remind us that there is a hell and eternal judgement for those that do not go to Christ. The big issue within the church today (Catholic and Protestant) is that you tend to only hear that God loves everyone. And while that is true, it must also be remembered that we need Christ crucified and risen. without it, there is no hope of salvation. You can’t live anyway you want to and hope to make it to heaven. “Why me?”, “Why not me?” reminds me of a time, years back, when one of our kids was really off the rails – teenage tearaway, drugs, booze – the whole package. At my wits’ end, on my knees one day I asked God “Why me? What did I do to deserve this? What am I going to do?”. I was embarrassed and ashamed about the whole thing. I got the answer: “Why not you? I lost my best friend today. We have been friends since primary school. I have been very blessed to have her in my life, may she rest in peace. God sends angels to us in our life to help us on our way don’t you think.
So sorry. As we pass through life we have so few very close friends. How fortunate the two of you were to have each other for so many years.

And today I needed to be reminded again of the great LOVE the Lord has for us, for me!!! May the Lord continue to bless both of you and all who work in the ministries for the great work that you all do, for the Lord and all of us who need to encounter the Loving presence of our Loving God every day!
