Dear Bruce You express this moment so well .I feel the same way. When you mention seeing the people crying when you were a child because of Jesus dying for our sins, I remember crying last year on Good Friday in church and realized that some children saw me .I felt uncomfortable but maybe one day they will understand. It’s such an important moment to remember His sacrifice because of our sins. When we take the Eucharist, let us all remember the real meaning behind this.
I totally agree.. I will be one of those who weep.. overwhelmed at His obedience to Our Father.. but also the loss of my dear husband of 56 years.. the first Easter without himโฆvery deep sorrow!๐ข๐
Dear Sandie I pray that today will also bring you tears of joy knowing that your husband is resting peacefully with our Good Jesus . Whatever we say cannot ease the pain but the thought that our dearest love ones are with the Lord can definitely bring peace and can also make us smile. May the HOLY SPIRIT remind you of HIS presence.๐๐
Two aspects always arise for me: Jesus gave up His life for me, to atone for my sins and God the Father gave up His only son. The magnitude of those actions is almost unfathomable
Thank you so much for your daily devotions, I am Salvation Army and I have had so many blessings from your devotions and I am pleased that I at last know the meaning of Maundy Thursday.
Makes all the difference.. We are all so loved beyond what we could ever deserve!

I have just attended the Mass where the priest imitated Jesus by washing the feet of some parishioners. His sermon also explained that this was the first Mass. Do this in remembrance of me. Bruce’s explanation added extra weight to the sermon by the priest.

This devotional I did twice once to make notes and when head bowed eyes closed and putting myself in to the narrative. Thank you my Lord for the gift of this message to begin my Holiest of weekends.
