I take issue with what Bruce mentioned of not talking about concerns people have in order to protect confidentiality. This is secular double speak word salad, normally to protect a person in this temporal world, from having to accept responsibility. With the internet, surveillance, hacking etc., Let’s face it. There is precious little confidentiality left. I don’t see how exposing people’s concerns, breaches their confidentiality in any way.
I am with Bruce. He did the right thing. I remember a few years ago a priest after his sermon mentioned that he had been to dinner the previous night with a parishioner who had pulled out all the stops and served up a fantastic meal with all the best China and silver cutlery. He said he would have liked it much better if they had relaxed and been themselves and had their usual family meal. This is definitely what I want to do, is pray constantly and consistently for all those who I love and have on my heart to pray for, as well as myself, for all of our needs!!! Throughout my recovery I am always amazed at how GOD manages my affairs in all the areas of my life. Slogans such as ‘Let Go, Let GOD’, ‘Easy Does It’ are often lost in the mumble jumble that races through my mind. Incredibly a few weeks past in a Sunday homily my PP mentioned yet another novena. I don’t know about you but I have been overwhelmed by ‘novenas’. I agree many have merits and others were not intended for me. But this one made me squirm and relentlessly kept popping into my prayers and almost hourly in my daily… Read more »
