The rule of thumb in my house is never buy a woman an electrical appliance unless she has specifically asked for it. Allow her to tell you what she wants by showing you different items when you are out shopping over the year. A woman will always hint. The most wonderful item you can give her is her family around her on Christmas day and to be together at Mass. I am pleased that you got Rosemary’s gift for Christmas. God Bless. Elizabeth.

None of my children or grandchildren will attend Mass with me… I will continue to pray for them to do so in the future, however some of them do pray and that is so vital to their journey and for this I am extremely grateful. I will be at our Children’s Mass with my class of 16 2nd grade students and that is priceless!!! Prayers for the best Christmas ever for you!

Yep! The same in our household. The wife has the ‘spiritual gift’ of Christmas shopping and the husband missed out ALL together!!!!

As the wife with the spiritual gift of finding presents, I too do much of the gift purchasing. I have been known to give hints, but I always want one thing that will be a surprise. As well as my gift, I give my husband the task of purchasing our only sons gift. And then I ask my daughter for ideas for her husband and her adult son, our only grandson. Thank you for the fun way to begin my week. Plus the real message. I know at times there are things ahead of my God, especially ahead of doing… Read more »

Share the gift of 24 hours with Him…in .every thing you do and it makes the day more memorable! He will point out things you might miss! When I was a young mother of six my morning prayer was, “Let’s start this day… but You Lord … go before me!😁

Well done Bruce, what a fantastic shopping achievement. That’s one more gift that you had to buy compared to me. Great work! Like, Rosemary, my wife also has the ‘Spirit’ of shopping, and she is very good at it, sometime too good 🤔. I’m blessed becasue years ago we decided we didn’t have to buy gifts for each other anymore, we just buy what we need for ourselves as needed. That takes all the guess work out of it and it works perfectly for me! I trust after your hard work of buying this one gift that when you got… Read more »

I agree with you Bruce. I certainly don’t have the ‘spiritual gift’ and I am a female! Its hard picking presents at this time of year, so our family had decided many years ago, that the monies spent on gifts be donated to a local charity.

Love when you share yourself.🤪. But your sincere desire for all of us to come closer and really step into and live a more meaningful life with Him truly melts my heart. May God continue to bless this ministry… your family and extended family!

Absolutely agree with you…some of us have the gift of buying gifts for others and some do not. I do not as I do not care for shopping. My small family has an exchange of gift cards and we laugh about it yet it works for us. Merry Christmas and a very happy and well 2024!

ALL DURING THE YEAR,I AM AWARE OF CHRISTMAS,SO WHEN I SEE A BARGAIN,I KNOW I CAN GIVE IT/THEM TO SOMEONE,AS I GIVE TO ALL WORKERS IN MY COMPLEX,STAFF..AND EVEN STRANGERS IF IT FITS THE TIMING..GIVING IS LIKE TITHING SOMETHING WE NEED TO DO,AS GOD BLESSES US W/MORE THAN WE NEED,MAYBE NOT ALL WE WANT,BUT SOMETHINS AREN’T GOOD FOR US TO OBTAIN.I AGREE SOME HAVE A GIFT OF SHOPPING;I HAVE A GIFT OF FINDING GREAT DEALS[It’s not a gender thing, either]GOD GIVES US;ALL SPECIFIC GIFTS,NOT ALL HAVE THE DAME ONES.SO,BOTH YOU;BRUCE AND YOUR WIFE ARE BOTH RIGHT;ROSEMARY,JUST IS FORTUNATE TO HAVE THAT,BUT… Read more »

Are you kidding me. Rosemary really had the harder job of trying to purchase the right gift for each individual. You had one thing to do, sure hope you did the right job. God bless you both and your family.❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’m hoping that my son, daughter-in-law and grandkids will attend Christmas mass with me and my husband. Keeping Jesus central to Christmas can be difficult when all the consumerism is around us. I also tend to go overboard with gifts for the people I love. I think it’s just something women do. It is a way of showing them that we love them.

Bruce thank you for this beautiful message ! It helps me to search my soul and become close to God.

Sorry though I agree with Rosemary. As a woman I know we do a lot more shopping than a man does! Haha

We’re having a stress free Christmas this year. Takeaways on the beach and no gifts. It’s about Jesus, family and remembering the missing family and friends x With love from Cape Town 🇿🇦🎄

Love the message – needed the change of thoughts about the rich – wanting to point the finger at them and claim it as greed, or some other negative characteristics – while at the same time not liking the jealousy or mean spiritedness in myself. So thank you very much for clarifying the readings today. I always keep learning new things with your daily devotionals. AND I love your sense of humour!! God gave the the gift of gentle humour…. to heck with the gift of shopping… but glad you got it done already….

An enjoyable devotional today. I always love humor when I pray! Would love to know exactly what that “perfect” gift for Rosemary is! In the meantime I will continue to shop til I drop! Actually in my advanced age and realizing I could not possible give my adult children all I wish for them🙏I will stick with homemade bread and keep working on The Message!💕

Funny how the ‘spiritual gift’ of shopping seems to be reserved to the wife. Sorry Bruce, have to support Rosemary on this one.God bless you both, and your entire family over Christmas and 2024. Thank you and your team as usual for your amazing holy work.
